System Center Service Manager–SQL Query to get a full List of your Incidents

In the most cases, the Reporting has to be done through the Data warehouse DB for SCSM, but in some cases you have to get all the Data from the ServiceManager DB. For Example if you don’t have a Data warehouse DB for SCSM or you need some more Details.

In this Case you have to query the Service Manager DB, and unfortunately, this DB is not as simple as the Data warehouse DB. So to get a complete list of your Incidents, including all your Status, Classifications, Affected Users, Assigned Users and everything else, it will cost some time to build this Query.

Also to get the correct Values for Status, Classification and so on, you have to make some joins, but see yourself.

Take this Query as a basis and changed it to fit your needs. Below is a Link to Download

System Center Orchestrator SQL Query–Runbook Run Count

This will be a short Post, sometimes it can be helpful to get a List of Runbooks and the Count, on how many times the Runbook has been executed.

Maybe if you are looking for most executed Runbook in case of an Performance Issue or you just want to track your environment.

Get Runbook Execution Count from the last Month

use Orchestrator

select	Name, count(policies.UniqueID) as Count from Policies
inner join POLICYINSTANCES on policies.UniqueID=POLICYINSTANCES.PolicyID
where POLICYINSTANCES.TimeEnded > DATEADD(mm,-1,GETDATE())
group by name

Fix SCSM Console Issues

Some time it can happen, that your System Center Service Manager Console is not working like expected.
For example

  • Changes are not visualized in the Console
  • If you open an Element, the new Window is very small
  • Console won’t open
  • some other Problems

So, there are several ways to fix this Problems, please take a note, after some steps, it might be necessary to enter your SCSM Server Information once again, like on the fist startup.

Make sure, you close your Console before trying the next steps.

Clear Console Cache

that’s the easiest one, start your SCSM console with the /cache command, for example
„C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Service Manager\Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.UI.Console.exe“ /cache

SCSM 2012 R2 and SCCM 1511 supported?

Hi, a lot of people out there, including some of our customers, did an upgrade of SCCM to Version 1511 with an SCSM Connector in use. Than some errors has been reported in the community and MS told us that SCCM 1511 and SCSM 2012 R2 is not supported at this time.

No good News. The Event Log showing Errors with EventID 33333 and 34115 with Messages like “Data Access Layer rejected retry on SqlError:” and “Error writing relationship of type System.MobileDeviceHasOperatingSystem”

Microsoft told us first, they will support SCCM 1511 with SCSM 2016, no good new too.

But MS was surprising us today and announced they will support SCCM 1511 with SCSM 2012 R2 Update Rollup 10.

Additionally, MS told us that each new SCCM Version will be followed by a supported SCSM Version within 4 weeks.

Thanks MS for helping us with our customers.

SCSM Dashboard from Expit in Version 3.0 available

ExpitLogoI have written about the Expit Ensight last Year, now there is a new Version and new Features. Expit is providing Ensight 3.0 as a Dashboard for SCSM.

Dashboard and KPI are very important for Analysts, so Expit is providing a solution for that.

There is a free Community Edition which limits the functionality to Incidents and Problems. The paid Professional Edition has no limitation on Reporting and Dashboard functionality.

Whats New?

Expit done a lot about Performance, so the Console is much faster than the old one. Also in a Environemnt with a lot of Data, the Console is still fast.
